This year, NFTY’s cabinet was made official through North American legislation at Mechina, and will be playing an ever-more-involved role in the work of our movement, so we’re looking for you to join in and bring committees objectives to life! Below you can find information about all of our committees. If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out to the committee chairs. If you’re ready to get started, you can apply for a committee at Bit.ly/NFTYcommittees.
If you have any questions about the broader committee structure and its role within NFTY, please reach out to Zach Herrmann, NFTY President.
Inclusion Task Force
This year the Inclusion Task Force (ITF) will first focus on finalizing two inclusion checklists that last year’s ITF created. These checklists will serve as tools for congregations and NFTY regions to evaluate their inclusion practices. The ITF will share these checklists in the first half of the school year. Throughout the duration of the year, we hope to partner with regions and congregations. The ITF will not only aid in the evaluation process, they will also provide ideas to improve a community’s work with inclusion. There is an exciting year ahead in the ITF!

Internal Structures Committee
The Internal Structures committee will focus on expanding NFTY’s teen involvement in areas outside the constitution. Last year, this meant building a new travel equalization policy that made travel to North American NFTY events more accessible. This year, it’s up to you! In the ISC you’ll have a chance to learn about the nitty-gritty of NFTY and have your voice heard behind the scenes. We’ll be sharing our work with the rest of NFTY through blog posts and social media campaigns, and we’ll take action internally through partnerships with NFTY’s professional staff and direct work with policy on the North American level.

Israel Engagement Committee
This year the Israel Engagement Committee will seek to refine and further develop NFTY’s Israel education priorities, define core stances on current events, and interface with outside organizations that engage with Israel. Together we will learn, love, and struggle with Israel as we build relationships and infrastructure to better position NFTY as a key organization connecting to Israel. In this process, we’ll also be creating educational outcomes for NFTYites and researching NFTY’s existing Israel engagement trajectory to ensure we have the programmatic tools necessary to reach those outcomes. Although this committee is demanding, we can’t wait to kick off an incredible year together and know that the work we do here can be truly impactful on generations to come.

Environmental Justice Committee
The EJC will be comprised of teens who are passionate about ensuring the progression of environmental justice inside and out of NFTY. We will be exploring different ways to lower NFTY’s carbon footprint and helping each region improve its environmental impact. Work will include creating new ways to lessen the amount of non-recyclables in NFTY and find new ways to engage NFTYites in environmentally conscious activities, both individually and collectively.

Racial Justice Committee
