Ilene Ausubel, Director of Development, Youth

Ilene Scholnick Ausubel started in her role as Director of Development, Youth in December 2016.  Ilene is thrilled to be helping to raise money for NFTY, URJ’s camps, Mitzvah Corps and Israel trips since her own youth group participation, camp experiences and trips to Israel played critical roles in her life.  Prior to joining URJ, Ilene was the Vice President for Development at the Educational Alliance, a Jewish social services organization that serves over 50,000 residents of New York’s Lower East Side every year.

Previously, Ilene was the assistant director of major gifts at Hadassah. Ilene has also been a development professional at the American Jewish Committee, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, and The Associated: The Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore.

Ilene holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Columbia University and a Master’s in Jewish Studies from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America. She earned her B.A. in Sociology and Jewish Studies from Indiana University.  Ilene lives in Manhattan with her husband and their daughter (and future NFTYite).
