Lauren Bernstein, Canadian Youth Engagement Director

Lauren Bernstein grew up in Cleveland, OH, where she belonged to a small Reform congregation. For years she attended and worked at URJ Goldman Union Camp Institute in Indiana. She even met her husband there! Lauren attended Ohio State University, where she received her BA in Strategic Communications. She was also very involved in Hillel and her sorority, Alpha Epsilon Phi. Since her move to Toronto, she has been working in the Jewish community. For the last 5 years she has been the Youth Engagement Coordinator at Temple Emanu-El in Toronto. She worked hard to build a sustainable youth program, and to grow involvement in the GTA. During the year, she will be the NFTY-NEL Regional Advisor, and will serve as the program director and assist in communications for Camp George in the summer. Lauren lives in Toronto with her husband Kyle, their daughter Molly, and their dog Gus. Lauren is very excited to work with the whole NFTY-NEL Region, and to build a strong group of Jewish leaders.
