This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.


  • Not included in program fees: Transportation fees. Saturday and Sunday night dinner (cost can range from $10 per person and up) and Monday lunch at the Capitol (cost can range from $8 per person and up). We suggest participants bring around $50 in spending money.
  • Registration will be accepted after December 20, 2019 on a space-available basis.

All musicians are responsible for providing their own transportation to and from the Washington, D.C., area, and for arriving at the program hotel on their own. The costs associated with this travel are not included in the published program fees.

​Arrival Information

  • Nashir begins at 5:00PM on Friday.
  • Please schedule your travel in accordance with the guidelines listed in the table below.
  • You should plan to arrive in DC with plenty of time to check in to your hotel rooms and prepare for Kabbalat Shabbat so you are ready for Shabbat and to join programs by 5:00pm.
    • Please note that hotels rooms are generally not available for check-in until 3:30PM.

  • Our hotel provides a free shuttle from DCA. We highly recommend all of our musicians fly into DCA.
  • If you arrive into IAD or Union Station, we recommend a taxi or service like Uber or Lyft as the most affordable option.

Transportation During L'Taken 

  • Throughout L'Taken, we will travel to various sites around D.C.
  • Nashir participants will travel on buses provided by the RAC with other high schoolers joining us for L’Taken.

Departure Information

  • Please schedule your travel in accordance with the guidelines listed in the table below.
  • If you schedule your return train or flight earlier than the suggested times, you will have to schedule transportation on your own at additional cost and may forfeit lobbying visits on Capitol Hill.
  • We will provide bus transportation from Capitol Hill back to the departure locations listed below.

Participants and their families will receive a confirmation email prior to the event with additional information.
If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

Through Decemebr 13, 2019 – 90%

Through Decemebr 27, 2019 – 75%

Through January 3, 2020 – 50%

After January 3, 2020, we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after January 3, 2020 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid. Please note that we cannot offer credits in exchange of refunds.

All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to nftyregistrar@urj.org. We're sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.
