The NFTY Convention Teen Fellowship is a leadership development opportunity for teens to play an intentional, active role in the planning process of NFTY Convention 2017. This exciting new Fellowship will engage a group of committed teens one year out from NFTY Convention to be part of brainstorming and key programmatic decisions. Fellowship elements include opportunity to engage with this cohort at Kutz Camp 2016, where teens will act as full participants in the summer program. As part of the Fellowship, teens will focus on leadership skill development in the areas of communications, event planning, project management, worship, music, budget and finance. The Fellowship experience will include a site visit to the NFTY Convention hotel during Spring 2016. The NFTY Convention Teen Fellowship is open to current Sophomores and Juniors in High School only.

These teens will have a site visit to the NFTY Convention hotel, work with 1-2 other teens in the areas of Program Design, Worship & Music, Offsite experiences and Plenaries while also exposing them to event planning details and working with adult mentors on creating and implementing vision around events. These teens will be the “on-the-ground” researchers and planners around NFTY Convention.

Avital Abraham

From Fanwood, NJ; Temple Sholom of Scotch Plains, NJ

Tali Abraham is a junior in NFTY-GER. She has been a GER song leader for the past two years and looks forward to serving as NFTY-GER's Religious and Cultural Vice President in the 2016-17 school year. She belongs to Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains, NJ and has been attending URJ Eisner Camp since she was 7 years old. Tali is also proud to call herself a Urban Mitzvah Corps alumni, a program that she participated in the summer of 2015. When she is not at camp or NFTY, Tali enjoys singing in her school's choir, playing guitar, and reading.

 

Scott Buksbaum

Scott Buksbaum is a sophomore and President of his temple youth group BITTY. He loves meeting new people and making new memories. He love NFTY because it is a home without all of the household drama. He feel as though he is amongst family members at events. He is really look forward to help planning this upcoming NFTY convention and can’t wait to meet new people and work with them towards making a great convention.

 

Rachael Coleman

Rachael Coleman is from Carmel, Indiana and the wonderful region of Ohio Valley. She will be a senior this 2016/17 school year, and her two biggest passions are NFTY and lacrosse. She is so excited to be a part of the Fellowship team and can't wait to work hard to make convention 2017 amazing for everyone!

 

Hannah Restler

Hannah Restler is from Milton, Georgia. She is currently a sophomore at Cambridge High School and a member of NFTY- SAR. Her local TYG is called HOTTY where she serves on board as the member at large. In her free time, she likes to dance and hang out with friends. She is very excited to be a NFTY Convention Fellow!

 

Jordyn Schwartz

Jordyn Schwartz is a sophomore at Keller High School. She is active in schools theatre department and works as a tech head behind the scenes. She first fell in love with NFTY at her first event in the 6th grade in NFTY-STR. She is currently serving on NFTY-TOR's cabinet as Photographer Chair and on her TYG's board as Membership Vice President. She was also one of TOR's Delegates at Veida earlier this year. She is a URJ Camp Coleman and URJ Greene Family Camp alumni. This last year she went to NFTY Convention as a Jackofsky Fellow. She is so excited to be serving as a part of this Fellowship to help make Convention 2017 a success!

Ian Katsnelson is honored to be one of theNFTY convention fellows! He is part of NFTY-GER, and finds NFTY to be one of the greatest things anyone can ever be a part of. The community that is so welcoming really makes NFTY a special community. He is an extroverted teenager, and really likes to put himself out there to try new things and make new friends. One of his strongest skills is that he can effectively act as a barrier-breaker, when it comes to getting people to interact with each-other. He is so excited, and NFTY Convention 2017 is going to be so great!

 

Zoe Rosenberg

Zoe Rosenberg hails from Saint Louis Missouri in the fabulous region of NFTY Missouri Valley. She is president of her TYG, regional songleader, and her home away from home is GUCI, otherwise known as Goldman Union Camp Institute. She is also an active member within her school's Student Council and French Club. She had a blast last year at NFTY Convention and cannot wait to help take part with the planning of another incredible event!

As a proud New Yorker, Scott Kamen is an active member of NFTY-NAR and his TYG, ToFHY. When he is not showing of his NFTY pride, you can find him acting, competing in Speech and Debate, or watching a crime drama. His admiration for NFTY stems from our mission of fostering community, teen engagement and youth empowerment. Scott is thrilled to be a NFTY Convention Fellow and can't wait to see you all in Chicago!

 

Lauren Stock

Lauren Stock, current President of SHFTY (Temple Shalom, Dallas) and NFTY-TOR song leader, is a passionate member of the NFTY community. As an alum of the URJ Kutz Camp and a participant at the URJ Biennial, NFTY Convention, and NFTY Vieda, Lauren shares her experiences and enthusiasm with hopes to inspire others, as she has been inspired and motivated by so many amazing NFTY leaders. Outside of NFTY, she enjoys acting and educating teens on the importance of signing up to be potential lifesavers through her organization, High School Heroes. Lauren is ecstatic to be returning to Kutz this summer and cannot wait to start working on NFTY Convention 2017!

 

Noah Podolnick

Noah Podolnick is a junior from Cherry Hill New Jersey. In Noah’s free time, he enjoys many hours of sleep and friends that stops by to hang out. When he is not sleeping, he spends all his time either at school or at temple - - but usually spends more of that time at temple. He is so excited to be working with the NFTY Convention 2017 Fellowship team and hopes to do amazing things for Convention over the next year!

Molly Fidlow is a sophomore at Glenbard East High School in Lombard, IL. Some of her hobbies include playing instruments/singing, playing sports, performing in the theatre, and most importantly... participating in NFTY. She comes from a small background in leadership and cannot wait to expand it!

 

Michael Mitgang

Michael Mitgang grew up in West Windsor, NJ, but he currently lives in Newtown, PA. He has been a member of Congregation Beth Chaim, in Princeton Junction, NJ, his whole life. It has been home to his Bar Mitzvah, Confirmation, and Youth Group (BCTY). During the summers, Michael attends URJ Camp Harlam in Kunkletown, PA. He is currently a junior at Council Rock High School North in Newtown, PA. When Michael isn’t screaming the NFTY Cheer at the top of his lungs, he can be found performing on stage.  He was the NFTY-PAR Social Action Vice President for the 2015-2016 term.  Michael is very excited to be a NFTY Convention Fellow and cannot wait to build upon the leadership skills NFTY has taught him!!
