Welcome to NFTY GER!

NFTY is a movement that builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement. Together, we pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment, and deep connections, all rooted in Reform Judaism. NFTY’s Garden Empire Region includes central and northern New Jersey and the West Hudson Valley of New York (Rockland and Orange counties).

Dear NFTY-GER,

My name is Hannah Shinder and I am so excited to become the new NFTY GER President for the 5783-5784 school year! Currently, I am a sophomore in high school and after attending every possible GER event since my first Taste of NFTY in 6th grade, I am thrilled to begin working as a leader in our region, along with our four other amazing regional board members; Leadership VP Sammy Gerard, Northern Engagement VP Hollin Barth, Southern Engagement VP Delia Erb-Wagner, and Communications VP Liel Raines Moshe! The rest of our new regional board and I are so excited to dedicate ourselves to an amazing year of NFTY fun for our entire region!

Some fun upcoming events include The Collab, our North American-wide leadership training event that will occur on November 10-13 at URJ OSRUI in Wisconsin! I had the privilege of attending this event this past year and I had so much fun, so I definitely encourage everyone to try and make it to this amazing program if they can! Registration is open!

Another thing to look forward to is our Spring Kallah at Camp Harlam April 4-7th alongside our friends from NFTY-PAR! We also have multiple NFTYx opportunities in the works throughout our region that we will announce in the near future. We hope to see the NFTY-GER spirit grow to its full potential!
