FAQs:

Will there be transportation to and from Sprinter?

Yes, buses will be provided as part of the event cost. More information about locations and timing will be provided closer to the event.

What happens at Sprinter? Will I have fun?

Of course! All of our programming is designed and run by teen leaders who are passionate about creating mixers, social action programs, structured and unstructured down time, a chance to catch up on homework together, Big Fun evening programs, Shabbat services, song sessions, and so much more!

Is there a packing list?

A more detailed packing list will be provided closer to the event, but essentials include a pillow and sleeping bag/bedding, a small amount of cash for our canteen or fundraisers, and warm clothing for the chilly Pocono nights and mornings.

How will housing work?

Camp Harlam is equipped with a number of different types of housing that can help accommodate all kinds of housing needs, including accessible spaces, gender neutral/all-gender housing, housing with private bathrooms, and plenty of space to take requests to for grooming with a couple of friends. We try to create housing based on particiapants’ grades and roommate requests, but can’t always guarantee that every request is fulfilled. If you have any housing concerns, reach out to Jason Flatt to discuss further.

Staffing?

Sprinter will be staffed by a number of full-time and part-time Camp Harlam and NFTY professionals, paid Camp Harlam counselors and NFTY alumni who will serve as RAs, and volunteer clergy and youth professionals from across our 3 regions. If you’re a college student interested in staffing Sprinter, please contact Amy Kagan.

Can clergy and youth professionals attend?

Of course! We hope to see as many of our adult partners at Sprinter as we can. However, there is limited capacity for adults staying overnight, and a threshold for meal costs. We have a separate application for adults to use here, and will be in contact with you as we see how many adults would like to attend and at what points in the weekend to share more information about space availability.

How We’re Making NFTY More Accessible

How We’re Making NFTY More Accessible

NFTY Convention was a weekend full of fun, laughter, and new memories. Friendships were formed, community was built, and we were all inspired to lead. Perhaps most importantly, though, change was sparked in our Movement.

Everything is Bigger in Texas

I swear NFTY Convention was the best thing I have ever done. I made new connections, learned how to improve my community, reflected on important topics, and had the most fun of my life, so far. Every moment was incredible, from morning Zumba and yoga, to Havdalah with our neighboring regions, and so much more. I already can’t wait for my next NFTY event, and will never forget my time in Dallas with more than 1000 of the most amazing people I have ever met.

From NFTY Nashir to Songleading Onstage at NFTY Convention

To stand on stage in front of so many Jewish teens, advisors, speakers, and more and lead a song I grew up singing at my summer camp less than 20 minutes from my house was unlike anything else I have ever done.  As we came together to pray for peace for the Jewish people and for the entire world, I couldn’t keep the smile off my face.
