Welcome to NFTY GER!

NFTY is a movement that builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement. Together, we pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment, and deep connections, all rooted in Reform Judaism. NFTY’s Garden Empire Region includes central and northern New Jersey and the West Hudson Valley of New York (Rockland and Orange counties).

Sprinter Kallah @ URJ Camp Harlam

8-12th Graders

March 17-19, 2023

Join Reform Jewish 8th-12th graders from New York to North Carolina and everywhere in between for 3 days of building community, social justice, singing, making new relationships, and strengthening old ones at our second annual NFTY GER, MAR, and PAR Sprinter Kallah.

Led by teens, for teens, we can’t wait to see you there!

FAQs:

How much does Sprinter cost to attend and is there scholarship available?

The base cost is $360. When you register, you will be given the option to pay on a sliding scale or made an additional donation to help offset costs and scholarships. If you need further scholarship, information is available on the registration page explaining how to receive it. There is ample scholarship available: we believe that no participant should be excluded on account of financial need!

Will there be transportation to and from Sprinter?

Yes, buses will be provided as part of the event cost. The event begins at 4:30 on Friday and ends at 10:15 on Sunday. More information about locations and timing will be provided closer to the event. Expect that teens will have to miss at least part of school on Friday to arrive at their bus stops on time.

What happens at Sprinter? Will I have fun?

Of course! All of our programming is designed and run by teen leaders who are passionate about creating mixers, social action programs, structured and unstructured down time, a chance to catch up on homework together, Big Fun evening programs, Shabbat services, song sessions, and so much more!

Is there a packing list?

A more detailed packing list will be provided closer to the event, but essentials include a pillow and sleeping bag/bedding, a small amount of cash for our canteen or fundraisers, and warm clothing for the chilly Pocono nights and mornings.

How will housing work?

Camp Harlam is equipped with a number of different types of housing that can help accommodate all kinds of housing needs, including accessible spaces, gender neutral/all-gender housing, housing with private bathrooms, and plenty of space to take requests to for grooming with a couple of friends. We try to create housing based on particiapants’ grades and roommate requests, but can’t always guarantee that every request is fulfilled. If you have any housing concerns, reach out to Jason Flatt to discuss further.
