NFTY is a movement that builds strong, welcoming, inspired communities through teen-powered engagement. Together, we pursue tikkun olam, personal growth, youth empowerment, and deep connections, all rooted in Reform Judaism. NFTY’s Southern Tropical Region includes central Florida to the Keys.

NFTY-STR SPRING KALLAH

FRIDAY,APRIL 28 – SUNDAY, APRIL 30, 2023 AT Riverside Retreat Center in Fort Denaud, FL!

Teens will have the opportunity to spend the weekend with old and new friends while they engage in exciting programming inspired by their passions. We are so excited to bring together our community for the first time in over 3 years! We hope you will attend and get to know teens from all over Florida. This will be an event like no other, and we hope to see you there! Read below for more information, including how to register! 

This event is being run by NFTY and Camp Coleman, with programming powered by the NFTY-STR Teen Leaders. 

FAQ’s 

Cost: The early bird fee is only $274 through March 20, after which the regular tuition is $299. 

Scholarship: Financial reasons should never be a barrier for teens to be able to attend and participate in URJ Camps & Immersive programs. Check with your congregation to see what scholarship funds are available and if additional funds are needed please email Justin Levy, nftystr@urj.org. 

Transportation:The event begins on Friday, April 28 at 5:00pm and concludes Sunday, April 30 at 11:00am. 

You should reach out to your youth professional to see if there is transportation set up through your youth group or temple. 

Meals: All meals will meet dietary needs as much as possible including gluten free, dairy free, and vegetarian. Please be sure to indicate your teen’s most up to date dietary needs in their registration. 

COVID: Based on our current planning, vaccines and pre-travel rapid testing will be required. Mask wearing will be optional. Click here for the current COVID Protocols and FAQ for URJ short-term programs. 

How Do I Register? 

  1. To keep things all in one place, we use our Camp Coleman CampMinder system for registration. You aren’t registering for Camp Coleman, and the instructions are below!
  2. Click here 
  3. Complete the Parent/Guardian Information Fields 
  4. Indicate 2023 under Season 
  5. Complete initial information about the participant 
  6. Select “Begin Application” 
  7. Under Year Round Programming and Retreats, select “NFTY-STR Spring Kallah” 
  8. Choose mode of transportation 
  9. Complete application 
  10. For NFTY events, the deposit is the full cost of the event. The full amount will be charged to the payment method you choose when registration closes on April 14. 

You are registering to reserve your spot. Full tuition will be collected on April 14.
