Shalom NFTY!

With less than a week until NFTY Veida, the NFTY North American Board is thrilled to invite you to our mid-term Asefah (business meeting) and Elections on Sunday, March 6.

All NFTYites who attend Veida are invited to be part of Asefah. We are happy to share that we will be using both Zoom and Gatherly. Because we will be using Gatherly, there is a small, pay-what-you-can fee associated with Veida as a whole. There is also an option to choose the amount you would like to pay if you are unable to pay the full price.

Register now for NFTY Veida!

Asefah and Elections will take place on Sunday March 6 from 5:00-8:00 ET/2:00-5:00 PT.
Our meeting agenda can be found here.

Teen leadership is one of the highest priorities within NFTY. It is what makes our movement so strong and unique. As such, there are many opportunities, on local, regional and North American levels, to be involved in peer-to-peer and adult-teen leadership experiences. NFTY is governed by a board of teen leaders who are elected to serve a one-year term.

We are excited to introduce the candidates for the 2021-2022 North American Board!

We encourage you to carefully and thoroughly read every candidate’s Bio and Letter of Intent, as well as take the time to watch each candidate’s speech. You will play a crucial role in choosing the next leadership of our movement by learning about the candidates and sharing your opinions with an official voting delegate of your region. As you review these materials, please be mindful that every candidate is qualified and has demonstrated tremendous dedication by entering into this election process. We value every candidate and remember that they are an important part of our Kehillah Kedoshah (holy community).

As you read through the candidates, you will notice that there are no candidates for the positions of NFTY President, Programming Vice President, and Membership Vice President. Once the rest of the North American board is elected at Veida, they will begin work on discussing the future of these positions. While this may make things feel a little uncertain, it is also an opportunity. The newly elected NFTY North American board (with input from the outgoing board) will decide the future of these positions. This is an opportunity to think about the position of NFTY President and NFTY leadership in general.

On March 6th at 6:00 pm ET/3:00 pm PT, once Asefah is complete, we will begin our Meet the Candidates session followed by caucus time with your region and voting. Voting delegates must be present for the entire Meet the Candidates block to vote.

Finally, around 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT, we will announce our next NFTY North American Board!

We are looking forward to seeing you soon, if you have any questions please contact NFTY President, Lev Mosbacher, nftypres@urj.org.

L’hitraot,
Lev Mosbacher, NFTY President
On behalf of the NFTY North American Board
